Concentric Wave

I had a request from Adam who wanted to 3D model my Concentric Wave - just for fun! I agreed and a movie of the original piece along with his fine work are below.

The kinetic sculpture, titled Concentric Wave, is the largest Smith has produced to date and is permanently sited at The Harley Gallery, Worksop, Nottinghamshire. The sculpture straddles a four metre circular pond at the bottom of a red brick lined amphitheatre in the gallery garden.

“Conceived as a mechanical reflection of the water below, the piece is about simplicity, repetition, rhythm and balance.” Smith explains.

From Presbarkeep:
This is a 3d recreation of Martin Smith's "Concentric Wave" sculpture. I was looking for inspiration and found it in his video. Modeled in 3ds Max, 2009. Rendered with Mental Ray.
